Vision
We envision a world in which housing is not thought of as a commodity, but as a human right.

The Chicago Anti-Eviction Campaign envisions a world where people are self-determining and where communities collectively control and jointly manage the land on which they live. The Campaign seeks to enforce the human right to housing by organizing homeowners and tenants to inspire people driven solutions to foreclosures, evictions, and homelessness in the United States, and around the world. Through outreach to those directly affected by poverty and the current housing crisis, the campaign organizes meetings focused on social and economic education. In addition to community organizing and canvassing the Campaign partners with community development corporations to acquire bank donated properties for community controlled development. We provide emergency/transitional and low income housing provide access to housing utilizing our inventory of discounted and donated properties with a focus on hiring the unemployed and underemployed to economically participate in the rehab process. We also provide leadership in a community land trust in Chicago.
